You may soon see a shooting-star if you have never seen one before. The Leonid shower is a spectacular event that can be seen at night.  Since centuries, the Earth has repeatedly passed through a debris field that was left behind by comet Tempel Tuttle.  As the comet’s debris burns off in our atmosphere it leaves bright trails and explosions of color.

Costa Del Sol Meteor Shower Shooting Star

Until the 30th of November, shooting stars will still be visible.

Twenty Shooting Stars an Hour

The Costa Del Sol will see the meteor shower until 30 November.  On the 17th of November, at around 7pm, there may be up to 20 shooting stars an hour. The moon is in its “waning phase”, with a 6% brightness, so this will not interfere with the show.

The best places to view the stars You will be far from the built-up areas, where there is less lighting and fewer obstructions.  The shooting stars can be seen with your naked eye. There is no danger.
