HOSPITAL Quirónsalud Marbella Has launched a brand new Home Care Unit The purpose is to allow certain diagnostic procedures, care, and interventions in healthcare to be performed directly at the home of the patient. This initiative increases continuity of care, reduces travel and is particularly useful in situations where a part of the healthcare process can safely be carried out outside of the hospital.
The unit was designed to provide three distinct but complementary types of healthcare. The unit provides nursing care in the home to patients with chronic illnesses, those who are elderly or have reduced mobility, and for those who need periodic attention or certain techniques. It also performs at-home procedures to prepare patients for surgery as part of a preoperative pathway. It also offers structured follow-up after surgery, helping patients recover from hospital discharge.

You can also find out more about the following: Home Care Unit It allows for at-home testing such as electrocardiograms and noninvasive cardiac monitoring systems. It integrates preoperative procedures, in coordination with Anaesthesiology Departments, and facilitates the clinical supervision following surgical interventions.
Patients with special needs are also cared for, including those who require advanced wound care, negative-pressure therapy, catheter replacement or the administration of specialist prescribed treatments. All interventions are documented in the electronic medical record of the patient, ensuring coordination amongst all healthcare professionals. “The integration into the medical record ensures that care teams always work with updated information, reinforcing the patient’s safety and the cohesion of their treatment at all times,” Rodríguez adds.
The unit will also increase the resources available to patients with limited mobility or those recovering after surgery. Individuals with chronic illnesses can be better cared for at home by adapting clinical follow up to their individual needs.
