The number of people detained in a Guardia Civil drugs probe in Granada has risen to 22, with officers also seizing more than 13,000 cannabis plants and 3.3 kilos of pink cocaine during a three-day operation.
The force said the arrests were made across 13 operations carried out between November 3 and 5. In total, officers say they found 13,165 plants, 3,328 grams of pink cocaine, more than 24 kilos of cannabis buds, 1,613 grams of hashish and 34 grams of cocaine.
The latest figures add to the case reported by CNS earlier this week, when four suspects were remanded in custody after a separate court development in the same inquiry. Read the earlier CNS report here.
Searches across the province
According to the Guardia Civil, the operation involved 33 searches in different parts of the province. The force said one of the biggest seizures came in Atarfe and Alhendín, where officers found 5,701 plants, 1,613 grams of hashish, 34 grams of cocaine and 75 grams of dried cannabis buds.
Another major intervention took place in Pulianas, where investigators say two men were detained and 3,328 grams of pink cocaine were seized alongside 4,506 grams of vacuum-packed cannabis buds and items linked to drug dealing.
Officers also reported smaller seizures in other localities, including Caniles, where four large cannabis plants were located. The force has not said how many of the 22 people remain under investigation or whether further arrests are expected.
Open inquiry
The Guardia Civil says the wider investigation is still open. It has not released further details of the detainees or the judicial authority overseeing the case.
