Dear sun worshippers, it’s time to bid a fond farewell to the glorious blue skies this Sunday, as we are likely to wake up to stormy skies throughout the Costa del Sol and plentiful rain – so get the washing in.

Saturday was a classic Costa del Sol winter day, which reached 18ºC in parts and lows not dipping below a very civilised 13°C, perfect for a late-autumn stroll along the promenade or one final al fresco lunch without needing a jacket. While the slight wind kept the temperature down, it was still a good excuse to stay in bed and enjoy a lazy morning.

Mother Nature will change everything on Sunday, November 30 with the wind, rain, and possibly thunder and lighting in some parts. AEMET The Costa del Sol is under a yellow rain warning from 6am until 2pm. We’re going to get soaked. Expect cloudy skies with rain, which could be steady at first but then turn into a torrential downpour. The thunder may also appear.

Wake-up temperature is around 11°C (52°F), so the duvet might win the first round. After lunch the rain will ease, with patchy showers. There may even be some sunny periods in late afternoon.

Look ahead to Monday, when temperatures will be remarkably calm with patches of cloud. But Tuesday, December 2 is also a day that could see heavy rains return for a second round later in the afternoon and possibly lasting into Friday morning.

Do not forget your umbrella. Put on your winter coats, check where you’ve booked lunch and do not leave the washing to dry. AEMET state meteorologists predict a rainy Sunday.
