What is the weather in Spain to see out April and welcome May?

Spain’s State Meteorological Agency, AEMET, has issued a forecast for mostly mild but sometimes changeable weather conditions in southern and east regions this coming week. It is a period that will welcome a new wave tourists who are planning to travel during the long weekend in May.

This week will be marked by changing skies

The daytime temperatures will be mild, with a pleasant breeze. 21 and 28 degrees Celsius Lows overnight are usually between 10 and 16°C. Clouds are often seen, and chances for light rain increase from midweek until the weekend. Most of the wind will blow in from an easterly direction or a southerly direction. This is expected to cause little disruption.

Bank Holidays spark coastal getaways

On Friday, the Day of the Workers will be a holiday throughout Spain. Shops and supermarkets will be closed so it is best to stock up before. Visitors from Britain and other countries pack up their bags to enjoy a long weekend in the Spanish Costas with family and friends.

Sea temperatures invite refreshing dips

The water temperature along the Mediterranean coasts is near 17 degrees Celsius. The water temperature is cool enough to allow for short paddling or swimming sessions. From the Costa del Sol up to the Balearics, coastal spots will attract people looking to combine beach fun with nice air temperatures.

Practical notes help weekend plans

In some places, the chances of showers will increase later in this week. You may want to bring a light jacket or an umbrella with you for your outdoor plans. The coastal zones should be milder than the inland areas, where showers are more frequent. For smoother activities, drivers are advised to monitor official updates on the local level. Families and groups will find many options to enjoy a relaxed day, whether they stroll along promenades under partially cloudy skies or sample regional cuisine.
