Feria del Rosario is Fuengirola’s annual highlight along the Costa del Sol. It enters its last stretch on Thursday, October 9. A lineup of traditional Andalusian dancing, live music and comedy shows will draw crowds to both the fairgrounds as well as the Palacio de la Paz.

This seven-day festival honouring the Virgin Rosario, which runs until October 12, includes casetas and food stalls as well as equestrian shows.

On Thursday evening, the action kicks off at 7pm with a performance by the Chassé Dance Academy at the main fairground on Avenida Nuestro Padre Jesus Cautivo. Later, at 10pm, the Palacio de la Paz hosts “Mujeres por Sevillanas”, a sevillanas display starring Las Soles, Las Carlotas, and Maria de la Colina, with tickets priced from €5 to €10 depending on seating.

Friday, October 10, moves to family-friendly and humorous entertainment, beginning at 5pm with a dance performance by Juan Antonio Pérez ‘Azabache’. Then the night escalates at 10pm with a comedy lineup featuring Alex O’Dogherty and the chirigota group Los Calaítas, bringing laughs in the spirit of Andalusian carnival traditions.

On Saturday, at 5pm, the Caseta de la Tercera Edad will host a regional dance workshop. The highlight arrives at 10pm as Spanish rock band Café Quijano takes the Palacio de la Paz stage for a concert, with €15 tickets available for reserved seating.

The fair wraps up on Sunday, October 12 – coinciding with Spain’s national holiday for Hispanic Heritage Day – with the following Monday observed as a local holiday, so there’s no need to go to bed early on Sunday.

The event has been described as a smooth one by the organizers, and with increased security attendees from Fuengirola or elsewhere can be assured of a secure environment. Visitors can get to the site by using the A-7, local buses or Renfe C-1 train lines, provided there is room in the carriages.
