Disgraced former Spanish football chief is coming to Marbella to flog his new book ‘To Kill Rubiales’

A former Spanish football chief will be in Marbella bringing renewed attention and a new perspective to one of the most turbulent chapters of Spanish sport history.

The president of Spain’s football federation, the RFEF, planted a kiss in the mouth of Jenni hermoso after she had collected the gold medal from the final of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 held in Australia.

This act changed Spanish soccer and tarnished Rubiales’s name, sparking debates about consent, sexism, and abuse of authority.

Rubiales resigned after being suspended provisionally by Fifa for publicly stating the kiss was consensual while Hermoso said it was not.

Hermoso, who had then filed a criminal charge accusing him of sexual abuse, was found guilty. 

The three-year ban from Fifa and all football-related activities has triggered the Se Acabo Rubiales, who is part of a movement demanding gender equality in Spanish sport, has written a memoir that tells his side.

Rubiales, who will be in Marbella next week, will speak on all of these topics and more.

This program was created by Amparo dela Gama, a journalist with aims to bring culture alive on the Costa del Sol.

The event will take place on Thursday at 7pm in the Trocadero Stadium. Residents are expected to gather there to listen to Rubiales’ story and relive turbulent times for Spanish women’s sport.
