Costa del Blues: Two nights the blues booked at Fuengirola’s Salon Varietes this September

Costa del Blues – Two nights of blues at Fuengirola’s Salon Varietes in September

The Costa del Sol is delivering a double serving of blues this month. Paul Stylianou & The Blue Stompers Jump Review will headline the Salon Varietes Theatre, Fuengirola, on Friday 18th and Saturday 19th September for the 4th Blues Room. This year the event has been extended to two nights due to the previous years’ sellouts. Shows start at 7.30pm. Tickets cost €20 from the box office or salonvarietestheatre.com.

Who’s on the bill

The nights are hosted by Stylianou’s Jump and Boogie Band. Suzette Moncrief is the special guest, bringing her big voice to the Costa del Sol. Born in New York, she has been based on the coast for many years.

Jonas Molina, a guitarist from Madrid, plays the classic West Coast and Electric Blues. Hot Nacho, from Marbella, mixes his original songs with material from the 1920s to 1960s. Alex Serrano, a pianist from Granada, provides the boogie-keys.

Those who caught last year’s single-night Blues Room night or Stylianou’s Q&A with EWN will know the drill: harmonica up front, swing in the rhythm section, and a room that likes to dance. Expect to be dancing in the halls to the irresistible sounds of the best Spanish blues artists.

What you should not miss at this year’s gala night

The tickets are always sold out. Box office opening hours are from Monday to Friday 11am – 2.30pm. One hour prior to curtain. Call +34 952 47 45 42. Online booking is not allowed for wheelchair seating. You must book at the counter. Children under 5 years old must remain outside the auditorium. The venue address is Calle Emancipacion. It’s just off Church Square.

Mike Sterling’s two-night show in 1925 filled the same house. Blues Room is also in the same English-speaking period, from September to May.

The demand for seats in 2025 will be high, so it is best to book early if you are interested in a seat on either of the two nights.
