ADSG launches September zip wire challenge to raise funds for dementia support on Costa del Sol

The Alzheimer’s and Dementia Support Group is planning a charity zipline event in September to raise money for its work helping people with Alzheimer’s and Dementia along the Costa del Sol and the Malaga inland area. The condition is more common than people think.

After the last session on Monday, regular support meetings will pause. After the summer break the sessions have resumed, giving caregivers and people with memory issues a break before the group gets back to its full activities.

Zip-wire day: 26 September

The event will take place at Sunview Park Adventure on the 26th of September, near Alhaurin de la Torre. A few places remain. Organisers have already reserved 25 spots. Participants will complete the high-speed, long course while raising sponsorship to support ADSG’s free advice, meetings and practical assistance for families in the region. The course has been described as thrilling and fun for those who have not yet tried it. The course is perfectly safe. Weight is no problem, as it can take up to 110kg.

Sponsorship still open

Participants are encouraged to collect as many sponsorships as they can. Requests for official forms and event details will be provided. To book a place that is still available or to offer support to someone who has already registered, contact the team via WhatsApp at 610 774 408,

What money is spent on

The funds will be used to keep the ADSG regular meetings, volunteer network, and information service going. These services are currently available in coastal and inland towns. Every sponsored metre encourages carers to exchange experiences, helps people with dementia remain active, and provides free guidance for families when first memory problems are noticed.

Anyone concerned about memory loss, caring for a loved-one, or simply wanting to help can join the effort. Early contact is recommended as places are limited. WhatsApp 610-774-408 is the best way to contact us for questions, bookings and forms.
