Police have detained at least nine people in a nationwide operation targeting the far-right group Núcleo Nacional, with part of the investigation extending to Alicante and other provinces across Spain.
The National Police said the coordinated action was still open and remained under judicial secrecy. Officers also searched the group’s headquarters in Madrid’s Fuencarral-El Pardo district and carried out further raids at homes.
Operation spread across seven provinces
The police deployment also reached Madrid, Asturias, Guadalajara, Valladolid, Pontevedra and Burgos, alongside Alicante. Authorities have not yet said how many arrests were made in each province or given details of the specific areas searched in Alicante.
According to the information released so far, the operation is being led by the National Police’s intelligence branch. The investigation is understood to stem from previous complaints and incidents linked to the group, though officers have not publicly detailed the precise offences under scrutiny.
Because the case remains under secrecy of sumario, police have disclosed only limited information. The force said the inquiry is continuing and that more developments may follow as the searches and analysis of seized material progress.
Probe remains open
Early reports said the arrests were provisional and could rise as the operation continues. The police have not confirmed whether the detainees have already appeared before a judge.
At this stage, officials have not provided further details about the people held, the evidence gathered or any charges that may be brought.
