Guardia Civil officers outside a house after burglary arrest

Two men held after being caught inside a house burglary

Guardia Civil officers arrested two men after they were caught inside a home during a burglary attempt in Enguera, on the Valencia coast, after neighbours raised the alarm over suspicious noises.

The men, aged 19 and 38, were detained on the spot and are being investigated for attempted robbery with force, according to the Guardia Civil.

Neighbours heard noises at the property

The incident happened on Saturday evening, 17 October, when a resident heard unusual sounds coming from a nearby house that was believed to be empty. The neighbour alerted police shortly after 7.15pm.

Officers from the Guardia Civil went to the address and, after checking the property, entered through a window. Police Local officers from Enguera helped secure the outside of the building while the Guardia Civil carried out the entry.

Once inside, the officers found the two suspects near the front door, apparently trying to get out of the house. They were arrested at the scene.

Case passed to the court in Xàtiva

The investigation was led by the Guardia Civil post in Navarrés, with support from the local police in Enguera. The case files have been handed to the court in Xàtiva.

No injuries were reported.
