The Andalusian Health Service (SAS), a regional health ministry-run service, has once again been the victim of fraudulent SMS messages that encourage users to renew their health cards by clicking on links to malicious websites.

SAS sources pointed out that, as they did back in February, when this scam was first detected., they never send text messages requesting personal data or renewals of health cards.

The identified messages contain the following text: “Official notification: Your health card needs to be renewed before April 20,26, in accordance with new rules.” …”, is the link you need to use to apply for your new health card. It also includes a request for bank details.

According to the regional health authority, these SMSs try to elicit an immediate response from recipients using fake domains that don’t belong to SAS.

The Junta advises that if you receive an SMS with this type, it is best to delete the message, not click on any links and not enter any personal or financial details. Public are encouraged to verify all communications through official SAS channels.
