Storm Francis has wreaked chaos across Malaga Province. Although it is not believed to have caused any injuries yet, the storm has caused major damage. It has shaken the region for over 24 hours, leaving it battered, blue, and a bit battered. On Sunday a red warning was issued after a yellow alert quickly escalated. Roads cut off, blocked and flooded
In the provinces of Malaga & Cadiz, Spain’s Directorate General of Traffic maintains a status of black level (closed), and red level(difficulty in circulation).
Closed black-level routes in Malaga include MA-5401 at Casarabonela, A-7057, Estacion de Cartama and the MA-3304 in Alhaurin el Grande. MA-5403 also appeared in Ardales on the same level as Malaga.
Cartama was still evacuated as early as Monday morning. The EMA Infoca deployed an operations technologist, two groups forest firefighters and two fire engines to assist with clearing roads and clearing affected properties.
