World famous chef Gordon Ramsay praises Spanish meat and wines as ‘best in the world’- but do YOU agree?

The world’s most famous chef, who opened the eighth Hell’s Kitchen in Spain this month, has praised and held the cuisine and wine of Spain to the highest standards.

Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen finally makes its way into Europe. The show premieres on Ibiza’s iconic party island.

The Unexpected Hotel, in the heart Playa d’en Bossa opened its doors to the restaurant at the start of June.

The no-nonsense culinary connoisseur said he did not only choose the location based on ‘the energy and atmosphere that match his idea of hard work and going all out’, but also because he lived in the Balearic Islands when he was a young chef.

He told Esquire that he had been a fan of Spanish food for many years. His fascination began in the 1990s, when he saved his money and visited El Bulli so he could sample their starters.

Ramsay stated: “It is a cuisine just as important as French, but with less arrogance.” Spain is more content with its own success and less arrogant. I love it.”

Gordon Ramsay, the fiery chef who opened a restaurant on Ibiza in 2007, brought his Hell’s Kitchen venture into Spain.

Many chefs have inspired Ramsay over the years, but he graciously praised the works of Spanish chef Dabiz Muñoz and emphasised the impressive rise of novel Spanish cuisine and culinary professionals.

The Spanish cuisine is undergoing a major transformation. In London, there are a dozen Spanish chefs who work in my restaurants. Ramsay said.

Ramsay has openly shared his love for Spanish wines, even declaring them ‘in a different league’.

One trip, with non-other than David and Victoria Beckham, to Vega Sicilia for a casual stroll through spectacular vineyards to indulge in a wine tasting, was his ‘peak with Spanish wine; it was top-notch’.

He said: “Spanish Wines have been a hidden gem in the world for years.” The label is all you need. They don’t even have to boast.

Do you think that Spain’s cool and calm cuisine should be given the credit it deserves, now that even Gordon Ramsay has praised its delicacies?
