Javier Bardem, a Spanish actor, spoke out on Sunday against the Iran-war while on stage at the Oscars in Los Angeles.
Bardem announced the winner of the best international film award alongside actress Priyanka Chhopra. He said, “No war and liberate Palestine.”
Bardem, 57, turned up at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre wearing a black patch reading ‘No a la guerra’ (‘No to war’) in red lettering, as well as a white pin reading ‘Palestine.’

“It’s the same” [patch] He told Spanish broadcaster Movistar that he used to use it 23 years ago, referring to the 2003 Iraq War.

Bardem is not the only one who has criticised the Iran war.
Saja Kilani wore an Iranian ceasefire pin, as well as the Oscar-nominated Palestinian film The Voice of Hind Rajab.
She said: “There is destruction, displacements and bombings occurring all over the world today.” “In Palestine, Lebanon and Iran, Venezuela – everywhere.”
Others slammed ICE activity in the United States, with actress Glennon Doyle donning a black bag with ‘F—ICE’ stitched on it.

The remarks came at a time when the US-Israeli Conflict with Iran entered the third week. Israel launched new strikes in Iran and Lebanon. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump asked allies for naval forces to be sent to the Strait of Hormuz due to an intensifying energy crisis.
Trump has insisted on many occasions that the fight will be over soon. However, he has not given a clear timeline to Congress or American citizens.
Tensions erupted in recent days following the US military leaders’ approval of the deployment thousands of Marines into the Middle East.
Trump told NBC News that Iran had indicated a willingness for a ceasefire but said Washington would not accept a deal because the terms “aren’t good yet.”
