What is the current state of this beer, which was voted best Spanish beer by 2023? It scored 94 out of 100.

The German Finest Beer Selection has chosen a SPANISH beer produced by the Mahou brewery as the best in the country. Barrica de Mahou Bourbon was rated the best of all the Spanish brews, scoring 94 out of 100. 

The Barrica de Mahou beers are part of the Mahou-San Miguel range, which was founded in Madrid in 1890. 

This Imperial Pilsner is aged in a barrel previously used to age bourbon.

In the Finest Beer Selection, judges scored 880 beers representing 18 countries. Each drink was assigned a point out of 100. The online daily Andalucia Informacion reported that only the beers with scores of more than 90 were allowed to proceed to the finals. 

Barrica Original & Barrica Bourbon won more than 100 international awards since 2017.
