What drivers are paying in 2026

What drivers will pay in 2026

The price hikes in January have a real impact on drivers using Spain’s motorways. In fact, some of the most popular routes are the most expensive per km.

These increases stem from annual price hikes set by the Ministry of Transport – roughly between 3.64% and 4.68% – and reflect the gradual rollback of inflation-linked subsidies introduced earlier in the decade.

According to the Ministry’s latest figures, drivers can compare what they pay today with what they will be paying in 2026 on Spain’s entire toll network. AP-7 Costa del Sol is one of those comparisons that are most obvious.

Official rates for 2025 show that toll points along the route now cost drivers between €0.05 to €0.20 The pattern is repeated on other concession motorways.

While ViaT’s frequent user discounts are still available nationwide, commuters and tourists will feel the impact as several major routes rank more expensive for each kilometre.

Costa del Sol’s motorway is not the only one experiencing higher prices.
