The fire started on Thursday, 11/13, in a 15thfloor apartment of Torre 1 located in the prestigious Conjunto Los Manantiales residence complex, on Avenida Los Manantiales. It caused panic among the residents in the building as well as the neighbourhood.
The fire was said to have started in the apartment’s kitchen after the owner had left. Initial indications indicate that an electrical short circuit may have occurred or that an appliance was left turned on. A full investigation is needed to determine the cause.

On arrival, the upper floors and neighbouring units had been evacuated to ensure that no one was trapped. The fire was quickly put out, and the damage was primarily contained to the apartment that was almost destroyed by smoke and flames. Firefighters began extinguishing the fire and ventilating it.
A fire is reported on Avenida Los Manantiales, near Hotel Sireno. It starts in the 11th floor.
Firefighters confirmed that no injuries had been sustained. Emergency services reported a fire in a building adjacent to Hotel Sireno on the 11th level. They mobilized firefighters, local and national police, 061 medical units, and emergency services in a separate incident. This fire was reported to have affected three apartments. However, the original unit was empty and there were no injuries or intoxications.

After spotting flames visible from a high altitude, a witness called 112 emergency services. Local police called it a major event that required a large-scale effort to stop the flames from spreading and secure the area. The fire is still being investigated and structural checks are continuing.
Both incidents, while they appear to be separate, with one occurring on the 15th floor of Torre 1 and the other in an adjacent building, show that high-rise tourist rentals are vulnerable. Residents praised the quick response which averted a disaster at the popular complex.
