Super luxury at Madrid's Westin Cuzco hotel

The Westin Cuzco Hotel in Madrid offers a high level of luxury

It has been decades since the Madrid Hotel is the place to stay for those who are flying into the city for business or a game at the nearby Bernabeu.

Cuzco’s hotel, on the city’s main thoroughfare Paseo el Castellano in the heart of the city, has recently undergone a major refurbishment.

Following a €17 million injection of capital from the Marriot group, it has been turned into a reference of cool and convenience under the hip Westin brand.

The hotel is close to the futuristic Real Madrid stadium, which was recently redesigned.

The Palacio de Congresos, with its famous Joan Miro mural and the Sorolla Museum where the artist lived in the city are also nearby for art lovers.

Plaza Castilla is a short hop away, with its iconic architecture and diverse museums. The EMT Transport Museum and Fundacion Canal are both great for children. Plaza de Espana is only six stops away from the tube station located next door.

It is the second Westin hotel in the city, after the historic Palace Hotel a dozen blocks to the south. The 290 rooms boast 44 suites with incredible amenities.

Each has been renovated to a high standard, with many offering stunning views of the city or nearby Navacerrada mountain range.

Suites with three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a walk-in wardrobe are incredible. They rely on the latest tech, and most importantly, high-quality pillows and linen.

The retro furniture and paintings are a perfect match for the carefully chosen artwork. For business meetings, a separate room with a director’s table is perfect.

The hotel’s modern lines, vanguard style and earthy colours give it a Scandinavian feel. Its reception area and bar are a popular meeting place for both football fans and businessmen.

The bar’s giant curved chandelier and matching circular cobalt sofa, black and white flooring and natural oak arches are offset by a bright red bar and natural oak archways.

The menu offers a great deal of value, and the light bites are delicious. Of course, there is a fine margarita.

It also has an outdoor terrace for those warm evenings and days.

Breakfast is included in the rate. It’s one of the best breakfasts in Madrid.
