San Vicente del Raspeig has arrested three people for the theft of 26 V-16 emergency lamps from parked cars.
The trio took a 30 kilometer journey from Ibi between January 26 and 27, to steal vehicles in an overnight robbery.
The thieves broke the windows and stole the beacons from 26 vehicles. They also stole personal items, tools for work and cash.

The high number of vehicles affected caused ‘significant’ social alarm around San Vicente, according to the Guardia Civil.
Every break-in included the theft of a V-16 emergency warning light which was made mandatory for vehicle owners since January 1, and which have become a popular item on the ‘black market’.
All three suspects had numerous criminal histories for similar crimes.
Although they lived in Ibi they had changed addresses and didn’t appear to have any jobs, making it more difficult to locate them.
The suspects were arrested in the town on 3 February and charged with 26 counts for robbery using force.
Bail was granted after the court appearance.
Guardia Civil recovered some of the items stolen and returned them to their owners.
The report noted that each V-16 beacon has a unique serial number. It recommended that owners record it and register it so they can be returned and recovered if stolen.
This year, there have been several V-16 thefts in Spain. One criminal from Alicante was arrested three separate times within one week.
