Probe into Costa Blanca shooting of Russian helicopter pilot is shelved because police can’t find or identify any suspects

The police have halted the investigation into the shooting of a Russian helicopter in Costa Blanca because they can’t identify any suspects.

A JUDGE has concluded an investigation into the February 20, 2024 shooting death of a Russian pilot, who had defected to Ukraine. This is because there are no suspects that can be identified.

Maxim Kuzminov (33), was shot in the car park beneath an apartment complex located on Calle Marinada, Villajoyosa.

He had been shot five times at least.

Kuzminov, a Russian Mi-8 helicopter pilot, took over the helicopter in August of 2023. He safely transported it to a Kharkiv airbase.

After the defection, special forces officers from the Russian Intelligence Service appeared on state television making clear that an ‘order’ had been given for the assassination of Kuzminov.

A week after his death, the Kremlin branded him as a ‘criminal traitor’.

The investigation into the murder has come up empty and now the Villajoyosa Judge has opened the inquiry that turned out to be a complete failure.

The Valencian Superior Court announced: “The judge made a ruling after receiving a Guardia Civil report that it had not been possible for the Guardia Civil to identify the shooter.”

To protect investigations, the probe had been classified as secret.

Three suspects including an ex-KGB officer and policeman have been identified by CBS News In November 2024.

It is important to note that the word “you” means “you”. El Español News portals reported that initially, the Guardia believed that Russia had recruited Chechens in the Valencia area to carry out this hit.

Kuzminov’s body was discovered by a resident in a car park ramp. El Campello, 20km along the coast from El Campello, found a burning car that had been spotted driving away.

Kuzminov was shot on the second-floor of the parking lot. He tried to run away before he collapsed on the ramp.
