Get ready to trot like a Turkey! Benalmadena Turkey Race returns on Sunday, 14th December.

The Turkey Race has quickly become one of the most popular community events during the holiday season. It injects lively sport, charitable giving and a spirit of community togetherness into the streets of Arroyo de la Miel.

Everyone can find a route

The day starts at the Polideportive de Arroyo de la Miel at 9:15am with the opening of the athletics track. This allows participants plenty of time to stretch, warm up and absorb the pre-race excitement.

Runners and walkers (and if they really want to be committed, trotters) will begin at 10am.

The 4.5km urban route is suitable for families. Through local streets they will complete a loop to Arroyo de la Miel’s Polideportivo. The 2.2km course is adapted to provide comfort, accessibility and inclusion for all participants. This reinforces the inclusive spirit of the event.

Do not worry if your group is at the rear. The race is meant to be a community event that focuses more on spirit of competition than fun. Participation is the goal, not speed.

This is a time of charity and community

The race is also a way to show solidarity. The organizers ask participants to bring a minimum of 2kgs of non-perishable foods to help local families who are in need.

There are many prizes available for participants, and they go beyond trophies. This event allows runners to compete for festive turkeys.

The Turkey Race is a relaxing morning activity for the entire family.
