Circus market returns to Mijas for fourth year of family fun

The fourth annual circus market in Mijas is a family-friendly event.

Las Lagunas is the place to be next weekend if you want something fun for your kids this April.

From April 10 to 12 the Mercado Circense returns to Parque de La Candelaria, Mijas, bringing a programme of family activities for free, circus workshops, entertainment live and market stalls.

This year’s event offers a variety of entertainment for children and adults alike

This circus-themed family weekend, which has been taking place for the past few years, is a good thing for local families. The format has clearly found an audience. The park will be transformed into a three-day open-air area with plenty of activities for kids and things to browse for adults.

Visitors can expect a variety of activities, including mask-making workshops, face painting, balloon modeling, jugglers, and puppet shows. This event is designed for families but has so much to offer that it’s more than a kids corner.

People can easily walk around the fair and enjoy themselves

A market area will be available with stalls that sell artisan products, food and jewellery. This will give the event a fair feel and allow people to stroll, stop and enjoy an afternoon.

It is a venue that’s also familiar. The Parque de La Candelaria, one of Las Lagunas’ most popular public event venues, is a perfect place for an open-air gathering. This event is expected to draw not only Mijas locals, but also tourists from other parts of the Costa del Sol.

There are many fairs and festival along the coast during spring.

The spring is when coastal towns fill their calendars up with outdoor fairs and themed markets, but this particular event stands out with its circus theme. Instead of a typical craft fair or food market, this event focuses on colourful performances, interactive entertainment and keeping kids entertained for longer than five minutes.

From 10-12 April 2026 the Mercado Circense takes place in Las Lagunas, Parque de La Candelaria. The hours are Friday 5:30pm-8pm, Saturday 11:30am-9pm and Sunday 11:30am-9pm. This is a great option for local readers who are looking for a family-friendly plan.
