The €1 Casa Lola charity croquette campaign backing Sarah Almagro

Casa Lola group has launched a new charity initiative in Malaga in collaboration with Marbella-born superhero parasurfer Sarah Almagro, with €1 donated for every special croquette sold to help support her international competition programme.

The campaign is set to run for three consecutive months and will feature a recipe that Almagro has personally designed. The presentation took place at Casa Lola, Plaza Uncibay in Malaga on Tuesday, 14 April, at 11am. Almagro, and representatives from the hospitality group, attended the event and spoke with the media.

Sarah’s favorite snack is the inspiration for this croquette.

The croquette is a tribute to the athlete. Casa Lola says the recipe is inspired by ‘El cantinflas’, Almagro’s favourite pintxo. The recipe combines a beef kebab with chipotle, lime, coriander, and crispy fried onions. It elevates the recipe to a modern taste profile.

Almagro’s remarkable and emotional sports career is also highlighted by the initiative. She was 18 when she contracted meningococcal sepsis and meningitis. This led to a 10-day-long induced coma, which resulted in organ shock. Her hands and feet were amputated. She returned to sea, and since then has become a leader in adaptive surfing. She competes internationally in Prone 2 and has achieved multiple podiums at world-level races. In 2024, her story and accomplishments were recognized when she was awarded the Medalla de Andalucia del Sporte.

Sarah’s fight was a heroic and inspiring story

This collaboration is crucial to show why Sarah Almagro has such an impact on the public, and is a great role model for young audiences. Her story is a public rebuilding of a life. She has set new goals, and she shows up every day. Sarah represents for many young people her story that ambition and confidence do not disappear just because circumstances change. If you’d like to track Sarah’s journey, follow her social media accounts.

Order the charity croquette to make it simple to raise money. Casa Lola says the charity croquette will be available in all of its establishments, and €1 per unit sold will be donated to Sarah Almagro’s future sporting programme.

For 3 months, the campaign is being run at all restaurants in the Casa Lola restaurant group. To find out more about the restaurants, visit their website.
