Spanish woman suffered horror dog attack in UK park

Spanish woman attacked by a dog in UK park

A SPANISH woman from Lepe (Huelva) has been left fighting for her life after being mauled by two dogs in the UK – suffering head injuries so severe she needed 196 stitches.

Marisa Masiaestre, 36, was in Fairfield Park with her son, aged three, when they were attacked by dogs. The youngster suffered less serious injuries, but his mother jumped in to protect him – and was viciously bitten herself.

Marisa was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition by emergency crews. Marisa spent a week on intensive care after doctors had to reconstruct both her ears and head. She is now recuperating on a ward. Her 196 stitch marks are a testament to the brutality of the attack.

Police arrested the 50-year-old dog owner for allegedly being in control of dangerously uncontrollable dogs.

Bath Police are treating this incident as a serious criminal act and have gone door-to-door to the area appealing for witnesses.
