Cristiano Cristiano is currently preparing for Portugal’s World Cup qualification match against Ireland at Aviva Stadium in Dublin. However, he has acknowledged that, although he loves Irish supporters and their country, this love may not be reciprocated right now. In an interview, the Portuguese superstar said that he expects to be booed during the match, which if Portugal wins will ensure their qualification for FIFA World Cup.

Cristiano Ronaldo will try to be a ‘good boy’ in face of angry Irish fans

Ronaldo told an interviewer on Wednesday November 12: “I love the fans here.” The support they show to the National Team is lovely. “It’s great to be back here and play again.”

“Of Course, it’ll be hard. I hope tomorrow they don’t boo too much. Ronaldo said, “I promise that I will try to do my best to be a good guy,” causing laughter from the audience. Indeed, Ronaldo had celebrated teammate Ruben Neves’ goal in front of Irish player Jake O’Brien when the teams faced off in October, prompting angry reactions from the Irish team fans … and team members.

Ronaldo’s Celebration rubs Irish Team the Wrong Way

Nathan Collins, the captain of the Republic of Ireland football team, later said that he was confused by Ronaldo’s celebration. He described it as excessive. “I think he was frustrated because he couldn’t score himself, I didn’t see it.” Collins stated that he only noticed the incident afterward, when Ronaldo failed to score a penalty. “I don’t think about how I can ruin their heads or be everything. “You just have to get on with it.”

Both teams have their sights set on the World Cup

Ireland’s match against Portugal will be critical. If Ireland loses to Portugal, they will not be able to qualify for the play-offs. Instead, they must rely on good results in other matches and luck to get through. The Irish team currently sits third in Group F and is one point behind second place. They will need to work hard in order earn a play-off position.

Ronaldo said that he was only focused on getting Portugal to the World Cup.[W]”We have to prepare ourselves for a difficult game,” Ronaldo said diplomatically. “I think it will be very similar to the game they played in Lisbon – and they have a chance. We are ready for them because they are a strong team. I believe Portugal will be able to play a good match and will want to win.”

Ronaldo’s Last World Cup

Ronaldo is feeling a bittersweet emotion this time when he plays in the World Cup qualifying matches. Ronaldo, the world-famous Portuguese sportsman, revealed that he would be playing in his final World Cup. Ronaldo, though tame during interviews, is a passionate player, and fans will be filling sports pubs and gathering around televisions tonight to see the thrilling match … and any feverish outbursts from the players.

Portugal and the Republic of Ireland will meet on Thursday, 11/11 at 8:45pm CET.
