Police arrest seven people and seize huge haul of weapons over spate of ‘Romeo and Juliet’ shootings on the Costa del Sol

POLICE officers on the Costa del Sol recently arrested seven individuals and seized an arsenal of ammunition and weapons after two shootings that occurred between rival families.

Over 50 officers from Malaga’s Policia Nacional branch took part in an organized raid this morning on two properties in Marbella.

The officers found two real guns, ammunition, fake firearms, large sums of money and a mask.

Two shootings that occurred on December 2, last year, and January 3, in the Costa del Sol Municipality are the subject of the investigation. However, no injuries from gunshots were reported.

Seven people, including the suspected perpetrators of the shooting, have been arrested.

According to police, the shootings stemmed from disagreements between the families over romantic relationships – with comparisons made to the feuding rivalry between the Montague and Capulet noble houses in Romeo and Juliet.
