Heat-related deaths were 57% higher in July than a year earlier in Spain

Heatwaves have been a constant feature over the last couple of months, and this has led to a 57% increase in heat-related fatalities during July. The Daily Mortality Monitoring System, or MoMo, reported 1,046 deaths last month due to higher temperatures than average.
