A second earthquake, this one in Granada, was recorded on the 5th of December. Zafarraya reported a 1.9 magnitude earthquake at 11.22am. This was less than one hour after a powerful 4.8 magnitude earthquake in Malaga and Seville. No personal or material damage has been reported in Andalucía so far.
The Zafarraya Earthquake occurred at a distance of 19 kilometers from its epicentre.
Sources from the geography institute claim that the earthquake was felt also in other Andalusian regions, such as Cordoba or the Guadalquivir valley area. In Malaga, the earthquake was felt along the coast, from Estepona to Motril in Granada province (Benalmádena, Chilches, Torrox and Nerja). It was also felt in the interior of the province, in Ronda, Antequera and Alhaurín de la Torre. The majority of people felt a small tremor lasting between two and five second.
