Grab your racket. On August 7th and 9th, every smash or rally will do more than just make you sweat.

Marbella Supports for the Eleventh Year

Marbella Town Hall once again lends its support to Nueva Alcantara Club Charity Padel Tournament. This event, now in it’s eleventh year, will be held from August 7-9 at the San Pedro Alcantara clubs. Every euro raised by Marbella Town Hall will be donated to an educational project run in Niger by the NGO Infancia Sin Fronteras. This project supports over 300 children.

Javier Garcia Ruiz – the Deputy Mayor of San Pedro – joined club and charity representatives at this week’s event, where he described sports as a great way to build solidarity. He encouraged padel players and neighbors to take part in an event that would help provide educational opportunities to children living far away.

Clubs that are passionate about a particular cause

NAC’s chief executive Pedro Cabral acknowledged that the tournament had become one of NAC’s most important dates. NAC always makes room for this little act of generosity. It is a part of who they are, even in the midst of their busiest peak-season weeks. Both players and spectators will enjoy a weekend in which every point scored is worth more than any trophy.

What is the real cost of money?

Luis Lastra, president of Infancia Sin Fronteras, thanked the team and the club for their support. He noted how important it is to the work that the charity does on the ground. The money raised will be used to support a Niger-based school caring for approximately 300 children. Many of these youngsters are living in difficult circumstances due to the security situation.

Fancy joining in?

External relations director Arantxa de Benito confirmed that anyone keen to play can sign up directly through NAC for €30, which includes a welcome pack for every entrant. The charity raffle will be held during the award ceremony to add some extra fun. You can watch and enjoy the atmosphere if you prefer.

The celebrations start a few days earlier with a charity meal at the Hard Rock Hotel Marbella, on 5 August. The evening is open to all, not only players. Tickets are available from the charity.
