Marbella boosts security with 370 officers for special Christmas operations

Marbella increases security with 370 officers to handle special Christmas operations

Marbella has been preparing for the festive season, which will be full of celebrations, lights, music and major security operations. Marbella’s town hall announced that 370 police officers, including those from the Local Police and National Police as well as firefighters and Civil Protection, will be deployed in order to ensure all events are safe and run smoothly.

Security enhancements for a festive and safe Christmas

The special operation will cover the city’s extensive Christmas programme, which includes parades, concerts, traditional zambombas, and the iconic Three Kings’ parade, across Marbella city, San Pedro Alcántara, Las Chapas, and Nueva Andalucía. According to municipal spokesperson Miguel Ángel Benítez, the sheer number of events in various locations makes the festive season “particularly long” and demands “a significant operational effort.”

Road closures are one of the measures implemented to ensure traffic safety and flow. Residents and visitors are urged to be aware and responsible. The town hall advises them to visit the municipal website or social media channels to get up-to date information about event schedules and disruptions. The coordination of efforts between police, firefighters and Civil Protection is crucial for maintaining a secure and orderly environment during the festive season.

Marbella has increased security to ensure that everyone is safe and secure during the festive season. It is hoped that both locals and tourists can enjoy the fiestas and parades while remaining worry-free.

Marbella releases a Christmas event programme packed with events

The security plans for this year are released as Marbella launches its festive programme. This includes more than 120 events that are free and open to all ages in December and January. The schedule offers a variety of family-friendly activities across Marbella, San Pedro Alcántara, Las Chapas, and Nueva Andalucía.

On the official website of Ayuntamiento De Marbella, you can find all the information and the full agenda.
