Manuel Leon’s La procesión va por dentro transforms Estepona’s Calle Terraza

Manuel Leon, an artist from Seville, has created a colourful and ironic riot in the pedestrian-friendly Calle Teraza of Estepona.

The newly inaugurated outdoor exhibition La procesión va por dentro, part of the “Estepona vive sus calles en otoño” cultural programme, features 17 towering printed signs exhibiting Leon’s explosive paintings. Free to the public, the installation will run until February 10. It features Leon’s explosive paintings displayed on 17 towering printed signs.

Born in 1977 in Villanueva del Ariscal, near Seville, Leon Has built a career of 20 years playing with historical masters, like Velazquez or Zurbaran, with an urban twist. His canvases explode with hyper-saturated colours depicting hooded sinners in absurd modern situations that mock society while probing human fragility.
