Fuengirola and other Costa del Sol charities could get government funding From Malaga

Malaga could provide government funding to Fuengirola, Costa del Sol and other charities

Fuengirola’s council encourages local social organizations, like charities, to apply for new provincial grants this year. They are actively promoting an important funding program. Francisco Jose Martin presented the details about this opportunity to improve community support networks in the area.

The eligibility criteria are explained

Organizations that run projects in towns of less than 20,000 people qualify. Groups from larger towns, such as Fuengirola, can meet the requirements if they can prove that part of their work is done in smaller province locations. This rule is a boon for entities such as charities that have multiple locations in the province.

Finance streams available

Projects focused on social intervention and action can receive up to €20,000 each to deliver initiatives that assist vulnerable groups in daily life. A separate stream provides €370,000 overall for material improvements with associations able to request up to €18,000 for equipment purchases or up to €40,000 for vehicle acquisition or adaptation to support social activities. Total available funding reaches €1,696,000 and doubles the amount from the previous edition to create broader possibilities for continued community work.

Social organisations can benefit from the benefits of social media

When local charities obtain these resources, they are better able to meet the needs of disadvantaged populations. Transport vehicles could make it easier to deliver services in remote areas or zones with less population, and new equipment could increase efficiency for programmes such as education or care. This support allows many entities to strengthen their operational foundations and reach more people throughout the province.

Deadlines and submission processes

Entities should submit submissions exclusively through the Diputacion de Malaga Electronic headquarters at sede.malaga.es. Access requires the official digital representation certificate for the applicant organisation. The forms are available starting May 19, and will continue until June 1. Full bases appear in the provincial official bulletin with further guidance in the dedicated Diputación cooperation section. Charities ought to prepare documentation carefully to avoid last-minute issues and contact convocationtercersector@malaga.es for any clarification needed on requirements.

Councils in neighbouring municipalities have also taken similar initiatives

Velez-Malaga council informed local associations through social media and public announcements about the same opportunity. Mijas, Benalmadena and other councils shared information to encourage participation. Estepona encourages all organisations with activities that are compatible with smaller locations to submit an application.

The June deadline for completing all documentation is fast approaching. This increased budget, compared to previous years, creates more opportunities for social work in the province.
