La Artística de Málaga Bigband makes its highly anticipated debut at Clarence Jazz Club.

Malaga’s ever-growing, and more and more popular jazz scene is about to welcome a bold new voice on Saturday, January 31, as La Artística de Malaga Bigband takes the stage for what promises to be an unforgettable evening of innovative big band music, with the stage at Clarence bending under the sheer weight of the band – 26 musicians!

This recently formed ensemble, led by renowned composer and saxophonist Ernesto Aurignac, draws its talented musicians from the esteemed Banda de Música Maestro Artola. Juande Robles shares Aurignac’s directing duties, and brings a new perspective to the dynamic sound of the group.

A 26-piece jazz big band ensemble that is unconventional and massive

This 26-piece Big Band is unique in its expanded and unconventional instrumentation. Along with the traditional sections of trumpets and trombones and rhythm, it also features oboes, French Horns, French Clarinets, Bass Clarinets, Euphoniums (Bombardino), Tubas and even Cellos. The band can explore new orchestration territories by combining the traditional with innovative and creative experimentation.

The repertoire will feature original compositions, arrangements and songs created by members of the band. These pieces delve into the unique character and style of the ensemble by fusing contemporary jazz and avant-garde with diverse influences. The result of this fusion is a fascinating fusion which bridges the classical wind band heritage with contemporary jazz innovation. This fusion promises surprises around every corner.

For fans of the popular Ernesto Aurignac, this performance holds special significance: it makes his return to Clarence Jazz Club – his musical “home”, with this ambitious new project. This concert has been described as an unforgettable night that will showcase the creativity of the group and the intimacy of the venue.

Tickets are available from €30, with sales already underway. Seats are limited and tickets for this historic debut are in high demand.
