A judge in Torrent has ordered the alleged founder of Blocus to be held on remand without bail after his arrest in Picanya, adding a new judicial step to the inquiry into online calls for looting and disorder.
The decision was made on Saturday by the duty magistrate at the Court of Instance in Torrent, according to the Valencian regional high court. It follows the Guardia Civil arrest reported by CNS on Friday in our earlier article, Blocus founder arrested over online looting plot.
The court said the detention is communicated, but the suspect is barred from using any computer or other device in prison that would allow access to social media. He is being investigated in a case opened over alleged criminal organisation offences linked to incitement to public disorder, robberies in shops using force and damage, without prejudice to any further charges.
Authorities have linked the wider inquiry to a series of arrests across Spain after online calls were allegedly spread ahead of Halloween weekend. Police have said the suspect was presented in videos on Telegram as the movement’s leader.
According to the information released so far, the case is part of a broader operation involving the Policía Nacional and Guardia Civil, with arrests also made in other regions including Catalonia, Tenerife, Andalusia and the Basque Country.
The detention in Torrent means the alleged organiser will remain in custody while the investigation continues. Police have not said the inquiry is complete.
