Heatwave Warning for Thursday on the Costa Del Sol

Thursday Heat Alert For The Costa Del Sol Spain’s National Weather Agency has issued a Yellow weather warning because of the heat in the Costa Del Sol.

Thursday Heat Warning

On Thursday, there is a Yellow Weather Warning for extreme heat. (9th July). Spain’s national weather agency (AEMET) Temperatures could reach 40c around Alhaurin or Ronda.  The weather warning will be active from 1pm to 9pm

High temperatures could pose a threat Pet owners are reminded to provide shade, water and shelter for their pets.  Fires are also more likely to spread, which has been known in the past to destroy areas on the Costa Del Sol.

The emergency services are ready to respond to fires that may be caused by the high temperature.

Weather Warnings: Types

Yellow: Be alert. Weather conditions could be severe in the coming days, and this may affect those living near the affected area. Yellow indicates that you need to plan ahead for possible travel delays or disruptions of your daily activities.

Amber: Prepare. It is more likely that bad weather will affect people in the area. This could cause travel delays, rail and road closures, power interruptions and even the risk of life and property.

Red: Take action. Extreme weather conditions are expected. Red means that people in the affected areas need to take immediate action to protect themselves and others from the effects of the weather. It is possible that there will be widespread damage and disruptions to travel, power and communication.
