Grant Barr: Update regarding missing New Yorker banker who disappeared from Spain’s Costa del Sol last January – CSN


Grant Barr, a missing US tourist who vanished from the Costa del Sol may have gone to Madrid.

The New Yorker (pictured above), 37 years old, was last spotted in Estepona, Spain, on 28th January, about 16 days earlier.

His father Michael Barr told the Olive Press today that the family were told by police that he may have left Madrid the following day, after the US embassy ‘flagged his passport’.

He said that the authorities could not confirm his travel destination.

Grant is described to have brown hair with green eyes. He is slim and measures 5ft7.

Grant, an American banker who is based in New York visits the Costa del Sol frequently because he has family there.

Grant, according to his LinkedIn profile, currently works for Alternative Funds Lending. He previously worked in major corporations such as Citi.

Michael stated that his son was originally going to sail, but changed his plans.

He continued: “We spoke a few times, he was going through a difficult time emotionally… he then spoke to his brother and that was it…

“The police told us they know he left Madrid on the 29th… the embassy flagged his passport.”

Olive Press reported that the US Embassy informed them they could not comment due to privacy regulations.

According to the missing persons charity SOS Deparrecidos Grant was last seen wearing a blue jacket, white shirt, and blue jeans.
