Giancarlo Eposito will be at FreakCon in Torremolinos for the 10th anniversary of this geek fest


FreakCon, the tenth anniversary of this event, is bringing excitement to Europe. The organizers promise three days of manga, comics and video games, as well as TV series. The halls will be filled with crowds of fans who will enjoy cosplay competitions, epic tournaments, and interactive zones.

Hollywood star Giancarlo Esposito will be joining the cast

Giancarlo esposito, a well-known actor from Torremolinos, will arrive on Sunday 24th May to meet with fans. He is known for his unforgettable roles on Breaking Bad, The Mandalorian and Gentlemen. His panels and meet-and greet sessions allow visitors to connect directly with this television talent. Other confirmed names will better the programme further: Musicians Coda and Tami Tamako are preparing special concerts, while popular creators including Elesky, Mister Jägger, Salva Espín and others add talks, signings and live content.

Indie game area expanded for anniversary edition

In the new independent video games zone, developers can showcase their latest projects. Players can give feedback on upcoming games, test them and see a professional juror award cash prizes to the best entries. The venue is filled with workshops and competitions for cosplayers, while quizzes and tournaments keep the energy high.

K-Pop festival opens weekend with separate programming

The K-Pop Fest kicks off on Friday night with a pre-party for the whole family, complete with food trucks, concerts and choreography sessions. Separate tickets are required to enter this opening event without gaining full access to the auditorium for the main days.

Tickets on sale via official website freakcon.es/entradas. Daily passes for Saturday or Sunday start from €17, weekend tickets for both main days begin at €25, and K-Pop Fest entry starts from €17. The last year was sold out with no sales at the box office on the day. Advance purchase is essential. My Mijas Council is organising a free shuttle bus to take geeks from Mijas to Torremolinos’ Palacio de Congressos on May 23. However, the exact details of where it will stop are still to be announced.
