The Feria del Rosario in Fuengirola concluded its final day on Sunday, October 12, 2025, with a vivacious atmosphere, perfectly coinciding with Spain’s national holiday, Día de la Hispanidad, also known as Día del Pilar.
The week-long festival, honouring the town’s patron saint, Nuestra Señora del Rosario Coronada, transformed the Fuengirola Feria grounds into a hub of tradition, Andalusian culture, music, dance, and all things southern Spain, and drew people from all walks of life and from all parts of the province to celebrate in the heart of the Costa del Sol.
This year, the fair was devoted to preserving and reinforcing Andalusian heritage. Locals and tourists dressed in traditional clothing, especially around Avenida de las Palmeras (between Fuengirola train station and Los Boliches) and Recinto Ferial. Men donned campero attire, while women and kids wore colourful clothing. flamenco dressesTheir ruffles were swaying in time to live music. The fairgrounds were filled with horse riders and carriages that reclaimed the southern Spanish equestrian heritage. The authenticity of the traditions touched a nerve, reinforcing the region’s pride in its culture at a time where such customs may be fading. Many participants were impressed by how distinctly Spanish the fair was, as a testimony to its dedication to heritage.
The peñas, local cultural associations like Peña el Cántaro, played a pivotal role in keeping these customs alive. They hosted modern flamenco shows every day at 5.30pm, which drew a diverse audience from all over the region. The festive mood was created by the lively shows combined with the clinking sound of the rebujitos in the casetas.
Organisers, who had spent the entire year preparing at Peña el Cántaro, ensured every detail—from artisan stalls to family-friendly games, reflected Andalusian warmth. They’re planning for the next big event, Christmas 2026 and are already looking forward to it.
Feria del Rosario was concluded on October 12 with a burst in energy. Los 40 Dance In Sessions was the highlight for the evening at Palacio de la Paz. This high-energy concert featured DJ sets, pop remixes and kept the crowd moving on this long weekend.
