Fuengirola to host Dog Day: A celebration for all four-legged friends

Fuengirola hosts Dog Day: a celebration for all four legged friends

Fuengirola’s Dog Day will be celebrated on Sunday 6 April. Pet owners and animal enthusiasts are invited to spend a day filled with fun, dedicated to their furry friends.

The event kicks off at 10:30am in Plaza de España, with a lively canine parade heading towards the Sohail Castle hillside, where a range of activities and exhibitions will take place throughout the day.

Owners of dogs can expect to see obedience demonstrations, agility games and stalls with canine themes, including groomers, local pet shops, and veterinary clinics. There will be animal rescue organizations present to raise awareness of their work and offer adoption opportunities for dogs who are in need.

This year, a new feature is that you can try paddle surfing for free with your dog between 11am-1pm. Raffles will be held every 20 mins, with prizes donated by local associations and businesses.

The Spanish Association Against Cancer is providing refreshments for those who are hungry. This allows attendees to enjoy a relaxed environment while supporting a good cause.

Councillors encouraged both locals and tourists to take part. It’s an opportunity to spend a day outside with your dog, meet other dog lovers and support animal welfare programs in our community.

So bring your dog along and join the celebration – a perfect day out for pets and people alike!
