Un Lugar en el Tiempo is on display at Torremolinos Town Hall. Running from May 29 to June 26, this collection of oil paintings by Jesús Ortiz Armada invites reflection on how places evolve while remaining preserved in personal memory.
The organizers created a display that has a contemplative feel, encouraging viewers to take pause and connect scenes from daily life and history. Each canvas captures traces and absences, architecture and memories tied to specific places, rendered using the unique brushwork and color palette of the artists.

Malaga Painter’s Profile
Jesús Ortiz Armada was born in the village of El Burgo, Malaga. He studied education science in Malaga, and then graduated in labour relations from Granada. His career path is rooted in the region where he was born, and he takes inspiration from both realist and impressionist traditions.
His landscape and bullfighting works have been recognized by local competitions over the years. Ortiz Armada painted his first oil at age five. He continued to pursue art with private lessons, but he primarily developed his skills by self-learning. He completed studies in applied Arts in Granada.
Realist style distinct
The artist is a master of realistic techniques and has a strong focus on Spanish culture. His previous exhibits were held in Malaga and Albacete. Many of his works are now held by private collectors both in Spain and abroad.
Ortiz Armada creates convincing light and ambience in his figure compositions by paying attention to both the main elements and the background details. His paintings convey a strong sense reality with their balanced colours and subtle tonal changes.
