The Exploding Boys – Europe’s most popular The Cure tribute group – will perform on the legendary Louie Louie in Estepona on Saturday 5th December for a unique tribute to post-punk, new wave, and the golden era.
The Exploding Boys, a group of musicians from Madrid who formed in 2006 have spent nearly two decades perfecting the sound and atmosphere of Robert Smith. The Spanish music critics crowned the group the best tribute band in Spain. They are widely regarded as being the finest Cure-tribute act on the continent.
The Cure’s entire discography will be covered, including early hits like “Boys Don’t Cry”, “A Forest”, and later pop classics from the 80s. The darker material, such as Disintegration, and Wish are also included. All of this is delivered with the trademark swirling guitars, pounding basses and Robert Smith’s vocals.
Euro Weekly reporter claims to have seen the original Cure in London multiple times. However, he is not sure who was on stage because of all the dry ice. Even members of the Exploding boys!
In addition to the tributes paid to Depeche Mode, New Order, and Joy Division during the evening, this show in Estepona will feature a complete immersion of the sounds which defined a whole generation, mine.
