Desperate plea from girlfriend of Swede dragged to his death in botched Torrevieja robbery: ‘I need to raise money to repatriate his body and pay his employees’ salaries’

The devastated girlfriend of an owner of a Swedish Restaurant who was killed in a brutal robbery, is now desperately raising funds to pay the wages for his staff.

Christian Pikulak, 30 years old, died on Sunday after being dragged a few metres under a moving car by thieves who stole his phone from the center of Torrevieja in October.

Vivienne Fondo, his partner who is devastated by the loss of her husband’s life, must now repatriate his body back to Sweden. She also has to pay his employees and settle his mounting debts.

Vivienne fondo’s girlfriend is desperate to raise funds for the repatriation of Christian’s body back to Sweden.

In an emotional Facebook appeal, she said: “My beloved boyfriend Christian Pikulak suffered a brutal burglary in Torrevieja’s centre.”

“He was dragged several metres by a car when the perpetrators stole his mobile phone – and his life could not be saved.”

Christian and Vivienne, who were in a car with a group asking for directions at 4am on Calle Pedro Lorca, suffered a tragic accident.

Christian is an entrepreneur from Sweden who moved to Spain about three years back.

The Swedish entrepreneur reached for his phone in order to assist the other passengers. But one of them grabbed it away from him.

Christian was being dragged by the fleeing automobile along the road as his girlfriend watched him in horror.

He spent days in a coma fighting for his own life at the Elche Hospital, before he passed away on 7th October.

The road where a mugging occurred

Vivienne now lives in Spain with Christian’s mother. She is overwhelmed by the financial strain of bringing Christian home, paying for his restaurant staff, as well as covering legal fees for an investigation that police consider to be a murder.

“The costs for transporting home and all of the administrative tasks far exceed what we are able to handle,” she said.

Unfortunately, the insurance doesn’t cover anything.

Funds are needed urgently to pay for Christian’s funeral in Sweden, to pay the wages of Smashed Burger staff, to settle bills such as electricity, water, and rent and to cover mounting legal costs.

Christian’s Smashed Burger Restaurant in Torrevieja

Christian had lived for three long years on Spain’s Costa Blanca, where he developed his business and founded the Smashed Burger popular restaurant.

Vivienne described him as ‘a man full of life, dreams and love for his family, friends and his work.’

Police are investigating this incident as murder. They have traced the signal of the iPhone stolen to Alicante.
