Imagine that your 80-year old relative or friend receives a call by a health assistant reminding them to take their pills. The Spanish company SPC has presented a revolutionary alert system at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, an app that allows family members and caregivers to monitor elderly people’s mobile phones remotely.

SPC Care is the app and caregivers can use the personal health assistant to fill out a template containing information about an elderly person’s medication intake. This will trigger a voice reminder to remind the elderly to take prescribed medication at the appropriate time. The mobile phone is also remotely manageable, protects from spam, and can be used to locate the elderly person using security alerts.

SPC has become a leader in the senior market. GfK, Germany’s largest market researcher, reported that 60% of non-internet mobile phones sold in Spain were SPC-branded in December. SPC presented their remote care app and Zeus 2 smartphone on Monday of this week. Both are compatible with SPC Care, allowing for comprehensive and personalised health management.

It is very easy to use: The caregiver simply fills out a template that is intuitive and simple in the app. They specify the name of medication, dose, frequency, time(s), etc. Once this information has been uploaded, they are able to schedule the reminder. The user will receive an automated call to their mobile device when it is time for them to take the medicine. A voice message will be played to remind them.

The system will automatically send a notification via the app to the caregiver if one of the prompts isn’t followed by the person being cared for. This notification allows caregivers to evaluate the situation, and if needed, to reschedule an additional reminder for the elderly to ensure they receive it, take notice of the message, and follow the treatment.

SPC Care uses TTS technology to achieve this. This system converts written text to spoken words using advanced artificial intelligence.

SPC also took advantage of its presence at MWC2025 to launch two smartphones that will be available this spring and are compatible with SPC Care: SPC Zeus 2 Pro, and SPC Zeus 2 The devices are fully integrated with SPC Care and feature remote control, allowing caregivers to manage all settings and parameters remotely.

Both models come with two physical buttons that allow you to end and answer calls without using the touchscreen. In addition, the interface is designed for older people, taking into account their visual needs and including large icons as well as a built-in SOS.
