Costa Del Sol Hotel Stays Reach Record Levels.  The first half of 2026 saw the highest number of overnight stays ever, with more than 10 millions.

Tourism has exploded on the Costa Del Sol. Today’s figures show that the number of overnight stays at hotels in the first 6 months of this year has surpassed 10,000,000 for the first ever time.  In 2025, the number of hotel bookings was 10.3 millions. This is a 4.2% increase.  This record-breaking number is largely due to the increase in domestic travel.  This year, 6.7% more Spanish nationals booked hotel rooms than in 2025.

British tourists continue to contribute the most Bookings for hotels in Malaga.  In the first half of this year, 546 723 Brits stayed in hotels overnight.

Costa Del Sol is the second most popular holiday destination The Balearic Islands are the most popular destination for tourists visiting Spain.
