Work is taking place during the night throughout March on a new taxiway costing over €16.7 million.
The project will optimise operations by reducing the amount of time that aircraft spend on the ground before and after taking off and landing. It will also create more slots for airlines, which can boost their schedules.
There are plans to renovate the old Civil Aviation Building and take over the terminal to create a facility that is dedicated to travellers who don’t travel within the Schengen Area, such as those travelling to or from the UK.
