JESICA TRUIJILLO, Benalmadena’s Equality Councillor, invited both young and old to Women’s Day celebrations

Benalmadena celebrates Women’s Month in March, not March 8, the day that is celebrated worldwide.
Jesica Trijillo, Equality councillor, prepared a monthly programme under the title “Together, Diverse, Unstoppable.” The objective is to progress towards “real equalitarian and establish the rights for all women.”
The councillor welcomed all members of public, young or old, to take part in the upcoming events and to learn and have fun.
March 4, 2019At 6.30pm, the Women’s Democratic Movement is hosting a round table discussion at Casa de Cultura.
March 5, 2019At 5.30pm, the Manuel Altoaguirre Library will host a storytelling session focusing on “Colours & Princesses Fart Too”.
Women of the World Exhibition in the Patio of the Casa de Cultura, at 7.30pm.
“Inconclusos” flamenco dance recital at 8pm. The event is free, but the capacity of the venue limits its size.
March 6th: Casa de Cultura will host the official celebration of Women’s Day with recognition for notable Benalmadena Women at 11am.
The Casa de Cultura will again be screening the film Shayda, at 8pm.
March 7, 2019 The MDM and the Benalmadena Town Hall are organising the Second Benalmadena Equality Gala at 6.30pm. This gala will award women who have been outstanding in defending equality on a local, national, provincial, and regional level. The gala will feature the actress Irma Soria and journalist Luis Algoro.
March 13, 2019 Gondola, the film by Gondola, will be screened at Casa de Cultura on Monday 8pm.
14 March The Amigos de La Historia group (Friends of History), organises a discussion on The Woman in Pre-history, at Casa de Cultura at 5.30pm. No entry fee is required, but booking is essential.
Pepa Luna presents Gloria en el Infierno, with a discussion at 6pm in the Arroyo de la Miel library.
21 March: The Museo Precolombino will host a discussion on Mujeres Artistas at 6pm. Booking is required but there is no entrance fee.
March 22nd Olga Lopez de Lerma tells stories at the Arroyo de la Miel library
March 28th: Booking required for the Children’s Workshop in the Museum Precolombiano
