Registration for Estepona’s first full marathon is underway, be quick as places are filling

Be quick to register for Estepona’s inaugural full marathon, as spaces are filling fast.

Estepona will warm up its hamstrings for a big day of running in 2026. Hundreds of distance runners will take to the streets of the city for the first ever 42.2-kilometre race.

International athletes register in high demand

At 8:30am local time, runners will gather in the Estepona Athletics Stadion on Avenida Juan Carlos I. This is the hub of the marathon for the start and the finish lines. The limit of 3,000 participants for all distances will ensure that race marshals, medical staff and other support personnel can provide adequate assistance along the route. More than 1,000 runners from 50 different countries have registered so far. Along with local runners, athletes from the UK and Ireland, the Netherlands Belgium and Norway are a large part of the international field.

A flat course that covers the beautiful coastal path and old town

Competitors will race on a flat asphalt course designed to promote fast times. The route mapping will direct participants to sections of Estepona’s coast path. This gives participants an opportunity to see the beautiful coastline. Course marshals are also on hand to direct runners in key urban areas such as the old town centre, the Orchidarium and back to the running track. The event is a high-standard, focused road race which combines scenic coastal running and a fast course. On the same day, there will be a popular half-marathon.
