Police in Sagunto on the Valencia coast have arrested 12 people and seized large quantities of ecstasy, cocaine and crystal after raiding five properties in an investigation into drug dealing.
The National Police said the operation led to the recovery of 14,000 ecstasy pills, three kilos of cocaine, 660 grams of crystal and €26,645 in cash, along with equipment used to prepare doses for sale.
Five homes searched
According to police, four of the searches were carried out in Sagunto and a fifth in a town in Castellón province. Officers said the inquiry began after investigators learned that one local address was being used to store and distribute drugs, mainly cocaine.
The investigation then identified a couple allegedly supplying the drugs from that property, as well as other suppliers and additional sale points.
Arrests and court action
Police said the 12 detainees included nine men and three women, all suspected of drug trafficking. Four of the arrested people have already appeared before a judge, and two of them have been remanded in custody.
The force said the operation was led by its judicial police unit in Sagunto and formed part of an effort to target street-level distribution networks in the area.
