Police in Fuengirola have arrested two young suspects over alleged plans to cause disorder and target shops during Halloween unrest linked to Blocus.
The arrests were made overnight during a preventive operation, according to the Policía Nacional. One of those detained is a minor, while the other is suspected of acting as administrator of a messaging channel used to coordinate the alleged sabotage and looting.
The latest detentions come after a string of arrests in the wider inquiry. Our earlier report on the probe can be read here.
Channel used to coordinate alleged calls for looting
Police sources said both suspects were active in instant messaging channels that called for looting and pillaging in shops in Fuengirola and nearby Marbella. Officers identified the pair over the course of the week and moved in as part of a broader security deployment.
The older suspect is alleged to have run a chat group called Blocus Fuengirola, where the suggested method and timing of the planned actions were shared with other members, according to the information released by police.
The force said the two are being investigated for conspiracy to commit public disorder, conspiracy to damage property and membership of an organised group.
Seven arrests in four days
With the new arrests, police said the number of detainees linked to the movement has risen to seven in four days, with cases stretching across Valencia, Bilbao, Malaga and Fuengirola.
The investigation remains open, and officers have not ruled out further arrests as they continue to examine the online channels used to organise the alleged unrest.
